JP in Mumbai Morgan's Model Risk Governance and Review (MRGR) was established in 2016 as an extension of the firm's global MRGR teams. Teams from New York and London team up to assess the performance of quantitative models used at the firm, including pricing models, risk models, and empirical forecasting models used across major lines of business, including Corporate Banking, Consumer Banking, the team at MRGR Mumbai. This position is a part of the ongoing performance monitoring (OPM) team within MRGR Mumbai. The MRGR OPM team is responsible for the technology platform that drives various model risk governance activities. The new analyst will work as a software developer in the MRGR OPM Mumbai team working on various technology projects.

primary responsibilities
Design and implement Python-based scripts within the firms' proprietary framework (Athena) to facilitate model testing and associated data analysis
Integrate user-facing elements (such as the web) using JavaScript
Write reusable, testable and efficient code
Required skills
Programming:
Ability to write clean and efficient code in any programming language
Working knowledge of object-oriented design
Excellent in algorithms and problem-solving skills
Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills will be required as a constant sync-up with the New York team and customers.
Desired skill
Quantitative and Analytical Skills: Good knowledge in probability theory, statistics, and numerical analysis. Highly analytical balance of mind.
Knowledge of financial derivatives: Basic understanding of derivatives theory with knowledge of Greek (delta, gamma, theta, etc.) and other risk components.
The ideal candidate for these positions will be graduates from recent major institutions who have done a course in Computer Science.
